I'm so bad at this blogging thing...Quinn is two days away from turning 1 and here I am just now posting her 11 month update! Oh well, here goes!
Quinn's first word was "da-da". She loves her daddy! She gets really excited when he gets home from work and she waves goodbye to him every morning.
She is crawling and getting into everything as well as cruising along furniture.
She "dances" (bounces) to music and loves to be read to...although if the story is long, she flips the pages pretty quickly.
She is becoming a pickier eater. She still loves fruit though, especially from Pappy's farm!
She still takes two naps that usually last between 1 hour and 1.5 hours each. She sleeps about 12 hours at night!

10 months
Quinn is on the move at 10 months! She's moved on from army crawling to actual crawling on hands and knees and started to pull up to standing a couple of days before she turned 10 months old. She had her first ER visit the night before she turned 10 months. Long story short, she woke up vomiting and we thought it had something to do with her falling and hitting her head earlier in the day, but it seems to be that she's actually allergic to eggs and that's why she was vomiting.
A few of her favorite things:
-swinging
-splashing and playing in her kiddie pool
-nursery
-animals (especially dogs and cats)
-walks around the neighborhood
-eating! (especially fruit)
-exploring all areas of the house & pulling things out of baskets
-being read to (especially Pat the Bunny, Goodnight Moon, and any "Touch and Feel" books)
-songs, especially "The Wheels on the Bus"

9 months...very late
Here's a quick 9 month update since Quinn is about to be 10 months this week!
At 9 months, Quinn loves to army crawl, pull up to her knees, look at books (especially "touch and feel" books), likes to "social laugh". Overall she is a pretty laid back baby and likes to observe everything that's going on around her. She usually sleeps about 11 hours at night and she's taking three naps a day. She gets really excited to see her daddy when he comes home from work. I think she's going to be a daddy's girl. ;)
At her 9 month check-up she was 17 lbs. 12.5 oz. and 26.75 inches long.

8 months
Our little sweet cheeks is 8 months old and not seeming so little to us anymore!
She loved the sand...at least was very curious about it...but she hated the water (it was still too cold)
It's hard to believe that this is the same baby! I was looking through pictures the other day of Quinn month by month, and Rob had to tell me to stop saying, "Awww" every couple of seconds at how much she's changed.
At 8 months, Quinn...
- is still sleeping 10-11 hours at night and taking three naps a day
- has one tooth
- loves bananas, applesauce, and sweet potatoes...but she does pretty well about eating almost anything else I've given her
- is on the move! She army crawls, sits and "talks" to her stuffed animals, and loves to jump in her exersaucer (especially in the mornings)
- visited the beach for the first time!

We love you Sweet Cheeks! You're such a joy!

Recent Furniture Projects
Rob and I really enjoy the thrill of finding a cheap piece of furniture and turning in to something unique. We both like when a piece has a "story". The fact that "Flea Market Flip" is on netflix hasn't helped my obsession, and since it's not quite time for yard sales we've had to resort to craigslist and bargaining at the local thrift stores. Here are a few of our recent projects and their stories.
This wooden side table was found at the local S.O.S. store with the top drawer broken. Rob took the bottom of the broken drawer and made it into a shelf. I painted the piece blue and sanded it. This piece found its home with someone via facebook.
Before: After:
This side table is probably one of my favorites because of the pallet wood Rob used to make a shelf. I don't have a "before" picture, but this was missing a top drawer and was basic laminate wood. I found this at a local Habitat Restore, painted it grey, sanded, and stained it, and Rob affixed the pallet boards as a shelf. This piece hasn't found a home yet. It is for sale at Southern Estates Antiques in Greenville.
Before: After:
Rob found this piece at Habitat Restore. It didn't have a drawer pull so he added a brass one to match the brass at the bottoms of the legs. The back was also coming off of this one, so he recreated the back from pallet boards. I painted the piece a pale mustard yellow, and this one found its home via Facebook.

This chair is also a favorite...if only I had room in our house for more chairs! It's actually one of a pair. I found these at S.O.S. thrift store, and Rob did some work on the legs to insure their stability. I recovered the cushion with burlap coffee bags, painted the chair white and stained it. These chairs are still waiting to find their home and can also be found at Southern Estates Antiques.
